Warm up your January with the Calgary Phil and conductor Fawzi Haimor in this wide-ranging program featuring Ginastera's spirited Argentine dances and Gershwin's musical portrait of a wistful American wandering the streets of Paris. The Calgary Youth Orchestra joins the Phil in a side-by-side performance of Valerie Coleman's bold musical call for unity in a divided world, and Canadian cellist Luka Coetzee is the blazing protagonist in the sweeping drama of Prokofiev's Sinfonia concertante.
