This event is going to be fun! Full of original tunes and great players with music that can be appreciated across the spectrum of genres – Jazz, Folk, Classical, vocal, instrumental. Lorna’s compositions have been influenced by so many of her teachers from Allen Bell to David Braid, Don Thompson, Hugh Fraser and More. She has written music for Theatre, Dance and National media companies (CBC, Access Network) as well as a variety of commercial and artistic enterprises across the spectrum of music genres. She has recorded six full length albums of original music and has had support from FACTOR, the Alberta Foundation for the performing arts as well as the Canada Council.
She continues to work on commissioned pieces for various groups but much of her writing is for her quintet, a group made up of some of Calgary’s finest Jazz…
